This is the next stage in the implementation. RSS Feeds allow users to be automatically alerted to new stories on our website through their browser, email client or news reader. In the case of the Fyneside project, we are going to take the feeds for all of the individual sites, aggregate them ordered by most recent post first, and then publish them on the main Fyneside homepage.

This achieves all sorts of things at one stroke:
1) It means all the individual sites get exposure to the front-end most visited page
2) The front page is changing more rapidly, and therefore is enticing search engine robots back
3) Provides all users equal publicity through fyneside.com

There are three routes, either using an installation of WP to aggregate the feeds and then post that feed to the main page, or use a third party solution like Yahoo! Pipes to do the hard work for us, or even use a small bespoke application. In preference, I think we’ll go for the first — I’ll post the results here.
