We’re now onto the next stage of developing this website and the buzz is that we have three (possibly four) complex blogs to implement:

  1. broadband.forargyll.com – The challenge with the broadband is to measure the speed of individual’s connection, save the info, and then allow the individual to identify their position on a map of Argyll, and post the speed there, along with a comment. It has been done, but not by us yet!
  2. business.forargyll.com – The business site is going to be an interesting one. We’re wavering between giving businesses freeform access to a page, or a more structured approach using the built-in user’s profile. The latter would be really useful, but the technical complexities may cause problems.
  3. lifestories.forargyll.com – LifeStories will carry alot of user-contributed material, and the moderation of this is the big issue here.
  4. pictures.forargyll.com – Pictures, or whatever we call it, will be integrated with flickr.com and as such isn’t rocket science, the interesting thing here will be the ability to control postings to the forargyll account. Not sure how we’re going to do that yet.

To keep track of developments, subscribe to the comments feed on this post, and I’ll post comments whenever one of these comes on line. Your feedback will of course be very welcome.
